When we last left our heroes (see here) they had just embarked on their performance rally career with a $500 van, a borrowed trailer, and a used Lada.

You read right – we built it! Sorry for the gap but we were kinda busy actually, you know, using the damn thing.

We got a lot done in the past few days; sadly some of it we thought was done already, but hey. However, we are making progress, which is important as Pines is only a few sleeps away.

Today’s hit list. All relays done All switches done; to be installed Electrical panel done Light bar done (save a ground – can’t wait to get a picture of that working) Door cards cut and test fitted; will install when we deal with the window switches. This took a lot longer than we would have thought… Hood installed Hood pins fitted, drilled and roughed in More supplies acquired (we’re getting to recognize the cars in the Canadian Tire Alliston parking lot) Got appraisal done (so we can eventually get this thing insured) We will be back up Monday and possibly tomorrow to keep hammering away at the list. »

As we are into the crunch this is more of a Twitter feed type update but rather than put it on Twitter it’s going here…although we really should put something on the damn Twitter feed. @rallysputnik

So we are into the countdown to the Rally of the Tall Pines 2014. It happens Nov 29. You should come, as we plan to be racing there. But first there’s still some work to do…
